Janineʼs approach is informed and inspired by her many years as a dancer, aerialist, yoga practitioner and teacher. Janine was introduced to Pilates while earning her degree at San Francisco State University. While studying for her diploma in Professional Dance Studies at the Laban Center London, she fell in love with her morning Pilates classes, and decided to add Pilates to her teaching skill set. Upon returning to San Francisco in 2000, Janine received her formal Pilates training and certification from Ellie Herman. In 2008, she was invited to become an Master Instructor for Balanced Body, and currently leads teacher trainings in San Francisco.

Janine has incorporated Gait Training, Osteo-safe Pilates, Active Aging, Yoga, Meditation, and Myofascial release to her approach and expertise. Assessing proper alignment, function and improving overall body mechanics is a key component to her approach. Janine brings a warm and caring style to working with her students. In addition to the Classical Pilates equipment, the CoreAlign which is uniquely designed for working on balance, posture and neuromuscular training, has become an essential tool.

When she’s not hard at work in the studio, Janine enjoys travel adventures near and far, standup paddle-boarding, hiking, yoga and learning to play the ukulele. She is deeply grateful to her many students and teachers for their continuous inspiration. Learn more at janinelouise.com
